About the Painting

Port Boca Grande Lighthouse was inspired by a sunset visit to Gasparilla Island with my family. I remember the sea breeze, the soft white sand, and the beautiful blue water that makes this stretch of Florida's coast so special.

What really caught my attention, though, was the lighthouse itself. There's something about its old Florida character, surrounded by the natural coastal landscape, that makes it feel as though time has slowed down.

I wanted to capture that feeling in this painting—a familiar piece of Florida's history and the simple beauty of an evening spent along the coast.
